HEARD ABOUT ESE?

Image
Have you heard about Ese?  Golden black Ese as we used to call her.  Her skin so beautiful that most people called her the goddess of the black race.  She went to papa Ijebu, who mixed pepper with lemon water, he added a little bit of carol white and a pinch of something which name, I can't recall. Suddenly the black in her skin vanished like magic, she was now "African snow white"  and she reigned in her head and her new found skin.  Ese was walking on the air, almost like her new skin gave her super powers.  Awhile later, there were cracks, itches, scratches and peelings... Her body was at war with itself.  Ese's skin changed colors more rapidly than a chameleon, no one could keep up. Then came the decay that went from her skin deep inside of her and in a flash, she was gone.   Ese died trying to be who she wasn't, she was so dissatisfied with being black in a black skin and I wonder why, what is so wrong with being black?

A DAY WE ALL WIN

Crazy how we can't have it all πŸ₯ΊπŸ₯Ί In between Messi's world cup win that I seriously prayed for, Neymar's tears as his country lost the match and Ronaldo's tears in what seemed to be his last appearance in the world cup games, my happy heart for my dearest Messi's still found a way to break in a million pieces from hurting for those whose dreams didn't come through on that field in Qatar. How do one feel happy and sad at the same time? 😭😭😭  That evening, I sat on my bed innocently but I sincerely prayed for one day that we all win. A day that everybody alive wins in everything and no one gets to feel sad or cry.

A day in which people give birth and no one dies. People gain, no loss. People get married, no divorce. We all laugh, no crying. No accidents,no sadness,no pains,no regrets,no loss etc. Just a day we all truly win and have no single worry about a thing. What is it they say about wishes and horses? I thought about it so hard that I started thinking God might actually hear me and give all of us a break for just one day. There is something about winning that I love and somehow find heartbreaking, the fact that most times others have to fail for us to win and even so I still want to always win.

Let's say God may never give us such a day or even a day won't be enough once we get it. Let's say we can't all win and we can't all be happy but I strongly believe that we can surely stop walking over others because we've got what they don't. We can be empathetic towards others and treat our success as a thing of luck and grace rather than power and more wisdom. The truth is the most reason why people are terrified of failing and even going as far as cheating sometimes to win, even when they know they can always try again, is mostly because of how people will see or treat them, what people will say.

Winning or success is important but neither of them is as important as humanity and kindness. Nothing is worth more than the feeling of the other person close or far away from you. When we start showing empathy and caring about each other's feeling, then we all  eventually start winning together. That is to say Messi is great and Ronaldo is great too, both in different ways. 😍😍😍 "I won but you could have won it, it's just that this is my time and your time will come." Empathy and kindness is a healthy lifestyle that we all should start living. What if we all can really be happy? 🀷🏽‍♀️

NOTE: In 2023, guide your mind and keep your space pure and healthy. Look out for others happiness but don't forget yourself. Infact, only love others as you love yourself...no more,no less.

Thanks "Queen of Letters" for always writing towards seeing what you can salvage from the already complete cycle of human stupidity.

  3. Inspiring!!!
This goes down to individuals sometimes... while some gets motivated after a loss, some takes it other ways.
Truth is, we may not be able to win at the same time, but one thing is sure, with the right mindset and attitude, we will all eventually win.

Afterall, the sky is big enough for everyone to shine.
