MY LOVER IS A KILLER

He is so handsome that you would think he is an angel He is good with words that you would mistake him for a poet He prays a lot that you would easily think he is a saint He promised me the world and forever, so I  innocently had faith in love once again. I buried myself in trusting him... Then as soon as I was head over heels in love and dancing carefree in his arms with my eyes closed, he grabs a knife from HELL and pierced through my flesh to my soul.  He watched me bleed out while he silently smiled from a corner. The stab was deep, he didn't hit to miss at all. My lover knew exactly what he was doing, he is nothing but a killer.  I'm dead but only to live in an invisible realm where I'm invincible.

ONLY WHEN YOU CAN'T

So in late June I had suffered Anosmia (inability to smell) and I had thought it would be for a day or two, so I wasn't really worried. Well, I started panicking when I lost my sense of taste too. 'Heyyyyy I don get Corona virus ooo' Lolzzzz... well, I legit thought so but I didn't have covid19. What I had was a bad cold that was determined to shake me up a little more than I cared for. So a week had past and I still couldn't smell or taste a thing and I was seriously freaking out in every single way. I never could have imagined that something as simple as smell could cause me so much pain. Pain in the sense that I couldn't taste because I couldn't smell and since I couldn't taste, food became boring to eat and I avoided eating most of the time.  A week had turned into two and two into three. At this time I wasn't just panicking, I was terrified in every sense of the word and I suddenly had so many "what ifs." But the one that bothered me th...

MY KARMA CAME TOO FAST You know how they say what goes around comes around? Well, my karma came running home to me way too fast.   So, I'm the last child of my parents  and my immediate older brother is 7yrs older to me. Yah, I'm the real baby of the house. Well, my family is a close-knit family and I have always been endured and tolerated umhmm,I did get away with almost everything. Like sending my older ones to help me do stuff but I always never agree to doing anything for them without a fight, I always acted like am the older one and then I  took their stuff mostly without their permission. It felt like paradise at that time,it really did. 😂😂😂😂 The story is, my niece is just 11yrs and she is already showing me pepper. My things are practically hers, like babe left her bathing soap for mine and now I can't even see it anywhere to buy (no importing things yet). The one wey pain me pass, happened last two Sundays... I...

A RIDE WITH MY UNCLE Interesting and fun moments can also be the time you learn the best lessons ever. So when you are laughing, pay attention, there might just be a thing or two to learn. So on Monday, I decided to ride to the office with my uncle. It was a short ride but fun and insightful. On our way that morning, I had seen this really cute guy with beard and now that I think of it,my uncle must have seen me look at this bearded guy a little longer than usual (lol FYI...I'm not attracted to bearded guys, the guy was just cute). Well, that guy and my stare led to this conversation Uncle: (giggles)you know I just recently wanted  to keep beards? They must have told you why I changed my mind and shaved it off Me: (laughing) no, I wasn't told Uncle: really? They didn't tell you what  happened? Me: (curiously) no, what happened? Uncle:  (laughs)so I wanted to know how many world wealthy men keeps grown beard and I went on google to search and I found o...

RACISM IN OUR WORLD The topic racism, has always being an emotional one for me. It makes me question humanity and the essence of life itself. Racism for me is the feeling of superiority based on something as plain as colour and what can possibly be wrong with this feeling? I  would say everything. You are not better than me because you have a white skin and I'm certainly not better than you because I'm black. And who would have thought that in this age and time that racism will be something in existence and not something taught to the younger generation as history.  Racism is not going to end until we all start to see our difference in skin colour as our strength rather than a threat. It is heartbreaking to see the hate, wickedness and injustice a man is willing to carry out on another because of the difference in the colour of their skin. I have been on Twitter,Instagram, Facebook etc and as an English graduate and Literature Major, I have read books on racism and...

AREWA Arewa, daughter of my youth To be a woman is to be everything and nothing I look at your tender eyes and I worry because I know we share a single fate A fate full of pains, tears and regrets Our lives are of duty not of ambitions or dreams It's only a matter of time before the world breaks you in pieces like a China plate and silence you so your voice is never heard There are so many things I could save you from but this is not one of them I pray for you now Arewa, that you find a reason to smile and share a few laughs because it's more than life is willing to give You and your siblings are my life's trophy besides your father The pains of womanhood is duly paid for by the joy of motherhood Don't you mistake my concerns for regret I Azifa will do this all over again for all your sake There is nothing I would rather be than be a woman and your mother. @lizzys_haven

A QUESTION OF FAITH Faith is usually talked about as believing in something that is not visible, something to come. Having faith is what keeps us going in life. Faith like- I'm going to get admitted into my dream university someday, I will soon get my perfect job,the perfect man/woman for me is going to come to me soon, I am going to have my own children no matter the delay etc so many things that we believe and have faith will come to pass and this faith pulls us up every morning and every single day. Then we sit and wait. We Pray some, confess some and believe some and right there before our eyes we see others having their dreams come through and we wonder if ours will be next. Time flies by and the odds are against us and uncertainty sets in but we decide against all odds to have a little more faith. The question is,how long can we stretch our faith? how long can we sit out our worries and keep having faith? Well if I have learned anything, it is that time weakens faith b...
